another harp back chair



I really like harp back chairs.  They are unique and the wood work on the back is just so pretty.  I found this beauty at a flea market this past weekend.

It was already stripped and begging to be painted.

I'm leaning towards painting the chair with the lovely light blue "oops paint" I found at Home Depot a few months ago.

And upholstering the seat in this Frenchy teal strip linen colored fabric.

I will certainly share the after product with you! :)

vintage iron chair

This was just one of many awesome garage sale scores from over the weekend.  I initially bought it to resell, but after getting it home I decided to loved it too much to give it up.  So it became a birthday treat for myself.  :)

I love all of the curves in this vintage iron chair!

I think it's suppose to be an outdoor chair, but it looks lovely in our entryway next to the counsel table.  (Please don't judge our lack of baseboards.. our home is very much a work in progress.  :) )

I want to make a little pillow for this chair, but in the meantime this little guy off of guest bedroom bed will do.

vintage ironstone obsession

Yeah, I think I'm officially obsessed with vintage ironstone.  Swoon.  I love the classic white pieces but also adore the blue transferware.

pair of Thonet bentwood chairs

Check out my newest find..

Yes, that's a pair of genuine Thonet bentwood chairs!!  :)  I was so excited after I found these beauties I could hardly wait to get home and start doing some research.

Look at those curves!

Based on the style of the inner paper tag, these chairs were made between 1888 and 1922.  Super cool!

I'm torn if I want to sell them or keep them for myself.  My friend joked that I'm going to be on a TV show for hording in 20 years if I keep everything I find.  He's probably right.  But but.. they are soooooo cute!

vintage school desk

I found this little gem a few weeks ago.  It needs some work, but I think it has potential to look great.

(Sorry for the bad lighting in the pictures.  I was feeling lazy this evening and didn't want to move the desk from our guest bedroom, nor did I want to edit the pictures.. we all have those days)

I'm thinking of covering the wood with strips of vintage maps.  I'm not quite sure how this will work (or if it will at all), but I'm going to give it a try.

french end table inspiration

I found a pair of gorgeous French side tables this past weekend.  I have been looking for a pair for quite a while, so I snagged these babies right away when I saw them at Goodwill.

Check out the decorative leather top!

tall back carved detail chairs

Check out these beauties I found..

I have three of them.  Kind of strange, but that didn't stop me from getting them.  I wonder if the fourth chair suffered some kind of chair accident.  :(

Aren't the carved details in the back just gorgeous?!?  They look Moroccan inspired.  And talk about height!  These chairs are tall and hea-vy!  Okay, not that heavy, but heavier than most chairs.

I'm excited to get them cleaned up, reupholstered and sent to a new home.  :)  I will certainly keep you updated on my progress.

colorful zig zags

I feel like I have fell off the posting band wagon.  I've been busy.  We all know how life gets busy sometimes.  This is one of those busy times.  Anyway, I wanted to share my idea for my next chair.  It's vibrant and fun!  Would you expect anything less from me?? :)

a super cool desk chair!

I love how the zig zag fabric accents the lines in the back of the chair.  Of course, I'll keep you updated with pictures once I'm done.

upholstered shield back chair

My mom picked up this little beauty for me.

I'm not sure on it's age, but it's in good condition.  And springs in the seat make it super comfy.

I think I'm going to paint this chair a neutral color and upholster it in a bright modern floral or geometric fabric.  I'm also going to lose the buttons on the back and possibly the seat.
