Charcoal Gray is a moody medium/dark gray color. It's a cool gray with blue and purple undertones.  This gray works nicely layered with other neutrals for subtle beauty or paired with vibrant colors for a unique style that is all your own.  Furniture, walls, home decor.. you can't go wrong with this rich, dark gray!

another Tell City chair done

I just love these rose back Tell City chairs.  They are so pretty and fun to work on.  This chair was a custom order for a client who was looking for a new desk chair.  Check out the before pictures here.

The wood was stripped down and painted a soothing medium gray color.

The seat was reupholstered in Because Purple by Suburban Home.

I also antiqued the entire chair in a black glaze to bring out all of the lovely details.  This really makes the flower pop.

I quickly snapped a few pictures before I packaged the chair up and sent it off to Cali.

Another chair complete!  :)  This Duncan Phyfe style chair was in pretty good condition - it just needed be to sturdied-up and refreshed.  I decided to paint the chair a nice granite gray color and upholster the seat in the very popular chevron pattern.  Of course, I picked bright spring colors.  :)  I love how this chair turned out.  I'm a little jealous I don't have a need for it in my house, but happy someone else will be able to enjoy it!

I feel like I have fell off the posting band wagon.  I've been busy.  We all know how life gets busy sometimes.  This is one of those busy times.  Anyway, I wanted to share my idea for my next chair.  It's vibrant and fun!  Would you expect anything less from me?? :)

a super cool desk chair!

I love how the zig zag fabric accents the lines in the back of the chair.  Of course, I'll keep you updated with pictures once I'm done.

picture frames

No, I haven't gone crazy.  I found these beautiful ornate picture frames and just had to have them.  They were dull and boring, but I knew I could fix that.  So I took a break from chairs to work on these frames.  I painted each one a fun, vibrant color and then antiqued them with black glaze to make all of the details pop!  They are very heavy (made of resin) and so unique.

upholstered shield back chair

My mom picked up this little beauty for me.

I'm not sure on it's age, but it's in good condition.  And springs in the seat make it super comfy.

I think I'm going to paint this chair a neutral color and upholster it in a bright modern floral or geometric fabric.  I'm also going to lose the buttons on the back and possibly the seat.

Another beautiful chair completed.  Yay!  :)  It was much needed as it was looking pretty blah before.

I sanded, primed and painted the chair a pretty granite gray color.  Then I antique glazed the entire chair black.  I really like how the glazing brings out the "harp" details.  The seat got new foam and batting before being upholstered in a blue, brown, and gray colored suzani fabric by Robert Allen.  I love, love, love this fabric!  Which makes since, because I also bought it in the red/gray/white/brown color pattern.  :)
